Miss Chola
Biography
Miss Chola is a member of the Cabellos Research Group. She studies how temperature changes cluster behavior, a research theme of Dr. José Luis Cabellos Quiroz. Her red bow identifies the specialist who stays calm as the system’s energy rises.
Education
- PhD in Theoretical Physical Chemistry: Boltzmann populations and free energies of cluster isomers at finite temperature.
- MSc in Applied Physics: molecular dynamics and vibrational analysis of nanoscale systems.
- BSc in Engineering Physics: statistical mechanics, thermodynamics and numerical simulation.
Research
She studies competition between isomers and the influence of temperature on their relative abundance. She combines electronic structure calculations, thermal corrections and vibrational analysis to interpret infrared spectra and conformational changes.
Project: from rest to thermal motion
She proposes population maps of boron clusters at different temperatures, relating them to spectroscopic signatures. Her favorite question: which configuration does the system prefer as the laboratory warms up?
Teaching and group life
She teaches Statistical Thermodynamics, Molecular Dynamics and Computational Spectroscopy. She leads discussions of simulation results and advocates naps as part of the team’s thermal equilibrium.
